PRESENTED BY THE WORLD SNOWSHOE FEDERATION (WSSF)

As the snow crunches and adrenaline builds this December, the global snowshoe community will turn its attention to Brillion, Wisconsin, where — for the first time ever in the United States — the 2025–2026 WSSF World Snowshoe Championship, USSSA U.S. National Snowshoe Championships, and Open Championships will be held on the same weekend.
From Thursday, December 18, through Sunday, December 21, 2025, athletes and fans from around the world will gather at the Ariens Nordic Center, a world-class facility nestled in Wisconsin’s snow-covered trails, about 30 minutes south of Green Bay.
“We are pleased to be working with Ariens Nordic Center and Paul Smith’s College to stage what is sure to be one of the best World Snowshoe Championships ever. We’re happy to be hosting again here in America — snowshoe is a growing sport globally, and it’s always exciting when we can welcome athletes into our country,” says David Robinson, Director of the World Snowshoe Federation (WSSF).

The WSSF Trophy: The Marc Elmore World Snowshoe Championship Award
At stake is not only the thrill of victory, but the honor of having your name engraved on the Marc Elmore World Snowshoe Championship Trophy. This new tradition lists winners dating back to the first World Snowshoe Championship in 2006. Named in memory of Marc Elmore, a beloved American athlete, coach, and ambassador for the sport, the trophy symbolizes the spirit, endurance, and camaraderie that unite the snowshoe world.
Marc’s passion for snowshoeing and dedication to building its community are remembered through both this award for the snowshoe community and his stories shared in Snowshoe Mag’s tribute and race coverage. Each new champion’s name etched on the trophy becomes part of an enduring legacy shared by athletes for the past two decades, and many more.

Early bird registration is now open through the end of September. Whether you’re competing or cheering from the sidelines, the 2025 Championships will be a weekend to remember. Register for the Championships
