Forêt Montmorency: Host Site of the 2012 World Snowshoe Championship

The Quebec Snowshoes Association is proud to help host the World Snowshoe Championship on March 9-12, 2012. Following last year’s event in Japan, this year’s race site will be Forêt Montmorency. World champion and Quebec resident, David Le Porho, will attend the event.

The organizers (Raquettequebec.com and Forêt Montmorency) are expecting up to 50 world-class athletes at the event. Those interested in participating are welcome to send their racing CVs to contact@raquettequebec.com.

Athletes from Québec who are interested in participating in the Québec Snowshoe Championship will need to qualify through an official Quebec Snowshoe Association race by placing in the top three of their respective categories.

In order to participate in the World Snowshoe Championship as an elite athlete and take part in the start with international snowshoeing stars, individuals will have to qualify at “Raquette d’Abraham” on January 22, 2012 or at “Frontenac Park Snowshoe Race” on January 21, 2012.
