Can't wait to hear about the hot springs! Valles Caldera seems like to perfect way to escape from the city. I admire your efforts! I grew up downhill skiing and just tried cross country skiing at Teacup Lake at Mt Hood in Oregon. It was definitely a challenge to get the hang of it.

I'm writing on behalf of the KEEN Footwear Recess Team. KEEN is inspired by experts like you who are making "recess" part of their everyday lives. We'd love to have some of your favorite snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or hiking spots on our map. http://recess.keenfootwear.com/snowmagination/
