The Landing Resort & Spa Named a TripAdvisor Top Lakeside Hotel in the World

The Landing Resort & Spa, Lake Tahoe’s first five-star boutique lakeside resort, has been named one of the “World’s Top 10 Picture Perfect Lakeside Hotels” by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, announced The Landing’s owners, Jim and Nancy Demetriades. The resort, which offers an intimate connection with the famously azure waters of North America’s largest alpine lake, is one of just two destination properties in the U.S. included on the international top 10 list.

“It’s exciting for The Landing Resort & Spa to be recognized by TripAdvisor as a player on a global scale as a best lakeside hotel,” says Jim Demetriades. “While Lake Tahoe is already a global destination, we’re pleased that TripAdvisor’s broad international reach will make more travelers aware of what our guests already enjoy at The Landing: top-notch views of the lake, private beach access, fine dining–including our outdoor lake-view patios–and really the ultimate place to experience Lake Tahoe and all the activities it has to offer.”

The Landing Resort & Spa takes full advantage of its spectacular setting while offering guests outdoor summer adventures on the shores of lively Tahoe South in a destination Outside magazine named “Best Lake” in its 2014 Travel Awards, calling it “freakishly perfect for just about every pursuit.”

The Landing provides complimentary colorful cruiser bikes for guests to pedal around town – or to the local water taxi to catch a ride to Tahoe’s West Shore, where guests can explore the area’s best and longest bike trail and locals’ favorite swimming hole, Fallen Leaf Lake.

Nearby Lakeside Marina offers guests additional watersport options from passenger boats and 65-foot sailboat cruises to parasailing and jet skis, as well as the latest twist on the stand up paddleboarding craze, SUP yoga. Back at the hotel, The Landing’s guests can enjoy private hotel access to Lakeside Beach, one of Tahoe’s finest sand beaches for swimming, picnicking, lounging or strolling – and The Landing’s full-service spa for a muscle-soothing massage using organic and locally sourced botanicals.

Jimmy’s four outdoor fire pits and outdoor sofas provide a cozy setting for sunset views and aperitifs–or The Landing staff can arrange a romantic after-dinner paddlewheel cruise on the lake.

The Landing offers 88 guest rooms with fireplaces and private decks, most with views of the lake. Guest rooms at The Landing Resort & Spa feature luxurious contemporary European style furnishings and the old world charm of wood floors, marble bathrooms, custom-made headboards and stonework – while also including such top modern amenities as 55-inch wall mounted televisions, in-room Keurig coffee service, pillow top beds with high thread-count linens, premium down pillows and comforters, plush robes, heated bathroom floors, heated toilet seats and waterfall. Select suites also offer aromatherapy, heat therapy, music therapy, light therapy, steam showers, heated towel racks and thermo masseur tubs in the guest baths.
