SNOWSHOE MAGAZINE GEAR REVIEW:

Energize like a PROBAR

A lot of people and companies boast about packing meals into a bar. PROBAR might be the one that best delivers on that promise.

The company offers a variety of bars, likely enough to suit anyone’s palate.

“Looking for a protein bar that resembles nature rather than a science experiment?” the company states on its website. “Good. Because we’ve packed 20 grams of plant protein and plenty of real, recognizable ingredients into this bar. And it does more than build your strength – it boasts chia seeds for hydration and recovery too.”

The PROBAR at least tastes good, which is more than you can say about some other products. It’s available in Mint Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Brownie and Cookie Dough. That’s like a smorgasbord at an ice cream shop, not a protein bar. Seriously, it’s almost enough to make me drool as I look at them.

Then there’s the PROBAR Bolt. As the company says, “we mean it when we call it a meal.”

“This PROBAR weighs in at a solid three ounces of fruits, nuts and seeds with enough nutrition to make a fresh, tasty, satisfying meal replacement,” the web pages states with confidence. “It’s rich in raw ingredients and the right nutrient-dense calories.”

For those munchie moments, there’s also the PROBAR Bolt. This product is available in multiple flavors.

“We’ve taken three of each of our PROBAR Bolt chews and packaged them together in one box. This is a great way for you to enjoy a different pouch of chews every day, or introduce someone to your favorite chew flavors. It contains three pouches of each of our flavors, including Berry Blast.”

I can almost feel myself putting some weight on during a trail walk by dining on these little bits of pure addiction.

I’m often on the run, covering one event after another and taking countless photos, and a product like this is ideal for my needs. My only dilemma is to remind myself that one serving of these puppies is enough, and not to scarf them down like candy.
