More Than 100 Inches of Snow; Stevens Pass to Open the Entire Mountain

More than 100 inches of snow has already fallen at Stevens Pass this season and the resort now has enough snow to open the entire mountain including Mill Valley (“The Backside”) this Saturday. With a winter storm advisory in affect and up to thirty more inches of snow predicted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to fall before this Saturday, Mill Valley and the rest of the resort could look like a typical mid-winter snowpack by the weekend.

“We are excited to get the entire mountain open,” said Chris Danforth, VP of Marketing. “Skiing conditions are superb right now and we are ready to open Mill Valley, and with more snow on the way, skiers and snowboarders should expect classic Northwest deep snow this weekend.”

After 44 inches of snowfall in the last five days, Stevens currently has a 50 inch base while many of the nation’s ski resorts struggle with low snowpack. Stevens plans to open all food & beverage, rental and retail amenities along with all 1,125 acres of terrain this weekend ushering in more options for guests.

With this new snow and a solid base, Stevens also hopes to open night skiing next Friday, Dec. 14 offering night operations on five lifts from 4-10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 4-8 p.m. on Sunday. With an annual snowfall average of 450 inches, this early season snowfall should help to meet or exceed that average.

New this winter, Stevens is offering the 4-day Powder Pack, a 4-lift ticket package for Northwest skiers and snowboarders to save money on lift tickets to Stevens this winter. The packs can be purchased on the mountain at Guest Relations or at www.stevenspass.com.
