Mt Seymour voted No.1 snowshoe friendly ski resort in North America

Mt Seymour has been recognized as the number one snowshoe friendly ski resort in North America by Snowshoe Magazine.

The Vancouver ski resort beat off stiff competition from ski resorts across North America to be awarded the accolade which reflects many years of developing and delivering a quality snowshoe program that is easily accessible to Vancouverites and beyond.

Janey Chang, Outdoor Education Manager for Mt Seymour, commented, “We are so honoured and thrilled to be recognized as the number one snowshoe resort in North America. We are committed to making snowshoeing fun, safe, and accessible for everyone through our 15 different snowshoe programs and rental fleet of nearly 500 pairs of snowshoes. We have many trail options for all abilities that wind through old-growth forest and around snow-covered lakes.”

“For the everyday snowshoer and enthusiast, Mount Seymour–acre for acre–is the top snowshoe-friendly ski resort in North America,” said Ryan Alford, publisher and founder of Snowshoe Magazine, the Internet’s top resource for the sport.”

Ryan continued, “The choice was obvious. Mount Seymour caters to families with its Baby and Me Guided Tours, invites people to stay healthy with its SnowFit Series, and offers romantic indulgences with its Chocolate Fondue snowshoeing excursion. And the resort offers a trail system created exclusively for snowshoers. Awesome doesn’t quite describe the Mount Seymour experience; it’s more about being extraordinary than anything.”

Snowshoe Magazine assessed each ski resort on the following criteria:

  • Access to snowshoe trails and/or Nordic center
  • Snowshoe equipment rental availability
  • Selection of activities that involve snowshoeing (guided tours, moonlight treks, etc.)
  • Lodging options and quality of accommodations
  • Location to a mountain village and resort amenities.
