Celebrate this Columbus Day Weekend in southern Vermont; head to Stratton for a weekend fêting Vermont, fall, friends and the kick-off to Stratton’s 50th anniversary season.

As the leaves busy themselves turning vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow, the resort is abuzz with preparations for the new ski and snowboard season, anticipating the arrival of 300 new snow guns, shipments of 2012 gear and affixing the name signs above two new trails.

Events include the chili cook-off and brewfest, North Face Race to the Summit, Tyrolean Evening with the Stratton Mountain Boys and a community BBQ benefiting the Stratton Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund.
