Family-owned and operated snowshoe company, Yukon Charlie’s, today launched a fresh, new interactive website and social media hub in effort to build a year-round community of active outdoor enthusiasts – www.yukoncharlies.com.
Yukon Charlie’s prides itself in making high-quality snowshoes at a reasonable price, which can be found at outdoor specialty and winter sports retail stores across the United States.
Though its marketing has traditionally focused on winter sports, Yukon Charlie’s commitment to the outdoor lifestyle has propelled it to reach out to a community of enthusiasts to help keep them active and outdoors all year long.
“Our initiatives in creating a fresh, new, online presence were threefold,” said Bill LaPierre, Co-Founder. “First, we wanted to encourage consistent year-round interaction with the outdoor community. Secondly, we wanted to improve the support we provide our retail partners with online resources. And last, we wanted to increase our brand ‘buzz’ by laying the groundwork for increased media outreach.”
To achieve its goals, Yukon Charlie’s enlisted the help of Mesh Marketing Creative Group, in Portland, Maine that specializes in New Media Marketing for Specialty Outdoor Brands and Retailers.
In addition to the detailed product information one might expect to find at a snowshoe brand website, the Yukon Charlie’s site features an interactive blog, designed to keep its community engaged with relevant news, events, and commentary on the outdoor industry.
“We are excited to provide resources for getting outside, such as a Trail Finder, Snow Report, and Video Library”, said Bill LaPierre. “For our retailers, we’ve built a Dealer Central, and for the media, we have a Press Room – tools we wished we could have established sooner, but are pleased to have in place now.”
To expand and converse with its community even further, Yukon Charlie’s is now on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr. It will be using these social platforms to launch creative promotions throughout the year.
