Columbia Bugatech Lite Omni-Heat Boots Review

My husband and I were lucky enough to have the right shoe size to both receive a pair of the Columbia Bugatech Lite Omni-Heat Boots. First, my husband usually has to get a wide shoe but because of the silver lining to keep your feet warm he opted to try them with thin socks and did not have any cold feet after a day of snowshoeing. We live in New Hampshire and along with close to 2 feet of snow came the below freezing temperatures. Our first trip was out are back door which has a trail that leads us through to Heads Pond.  This is a short trail but great to break in and see how these boots would do. They did great first time on and out in freezing conditions!

Next day we headed out to Auburn NH Lake Massabesic which is only 10 minutes from our house but  the Massabesic Audubon Sanctuary boasts 130 acres of fields and forests so it make for a nice half day of snowshoeing.

My boots at first I thought a little snug and stiff even with thin socks but after a short break in time of an hour they felt great. Although I was not keen on the white color and if purchasing would have picked the gray these boots are everything Columbia claims: Durable, lightweight, warm and fits  easily into my Tubbs women’s Wilderness snowshoes. My husband has the Tubbs men’s Venture snowshoes and these boots fit easily into the bindings.

This weekend we are heading up to the White Mountains for serious some snowshoeing surrounded by the summits of 57 peaks, including the Northeast’s highest peak, Mt. Washington. I know my feet will be dry comfortable and warm.

Thanks Columbia and Snowshoe Magazine for my husband and me to be able to participate.
