January 15: Winter Trails Day at Estes Park

Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to come to Estes Park, Colo. and check out the 16th annual Winter Trails Day on Jan. 15.

Attracting approximately 11,000 participants nationwide and nearly 1,000 visitors annually to Estes Park, Winter Trails Day participants will have the opportunity to learn all there is know about snowshoeing.  Sponsored by REI and the national Winter Trails organization, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m..

Highlights of the day include:

  • Free snowshoe demonstrations
  • Guided hikes and snow activities
  • Outdoor Gear displays
  • Free giveaways
  • Going into Rocky Mountain National Park for the real experience


While in town, visitors can check out all the events happening during the Winter Festival (Jan. 14-17), an event-packed weekend that celebrates everything winter in Estes Park. From wine tastings and chili cook-offs to an ice castle and carriage rides, there is something for everyone.
