Big Money to be Won at the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series

Highline Sports & Entertainment announced a partnership with Edwards, Colo.-based Dogma Athletica training center that will make the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series the richest snowshoe series in the world.

Dogma Athletica will sponsor the Dogma Athletica Snowshoe Series Cup, which will offer participants the chance to vie for a cash purse of more than $15,000, the largest cash purse available in snowshoe racing worldwide. The cash purse will be awarded to the top five men and women overall in the East West Resorts 5K Quest and Dogma Athletica 10K divisions at the end of the three-race series.  The cash purse is available to participants who compete in the same division of all three Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series events.

“I am excited to be a part of this partnership,” said Rod Connolly, owner of Dogma Athletica. “The Vail Valley is really trying to position itself as a leader in fitness and health.  This series has fantastic courses and Beaver Creek is a wonderful destination. It’s a great opportunity for us to promote the quality of venues we have in the valley, our healthy athletic community and the high caliber of coaching available. This series will be the most exciting series in snowshoe racing in the country.”

The dates for races for the Beaver Creek Snowshoe series are Jan. 9, Feb. 6, and March 6, 2011.  The Dogma Athletica Snowshoe Series Cup awards prize money to the top five men and women overall in both the East West Resorts 5k Quest and Dogma Athletica 10k series as follows:

In addition to sponsoring the Snowshoe Series Cup, Dogma Athletica is providing a special snowshoe series training plan to all participants in the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series for just $100.

“Our training program is designed to help people be successful in the series regardless of their starting point,” said Connolly. “There are training options for different levels both in the 5k and 10k distances.  It will be an online training program with two outdoor, coached snowshoe training sessions each week.  The guided training sessions will be led by professional coaches who lead effective workouts in the most non-intimidating and welcoming manner possible.  They will build the participants’ fitness, but also be a lot of fun and create some camaraderie in the community.”
