The Park City Rail Trail Snowshoe Stomp on January 10th 2009 was as fun as ever, the sun was out, the snow was great, and the weather was perfect. This event is now in its 12th year – a perfect dozen. Those who snowshoe race look forward to going to beautiful Park City and competing in this annual event.

The Rail Trail Snow Shoe Stomp also attracts those who want to snowshoe walk but not run the course; for those participants we have a walking division and giving them a chance to medal.  Need snowshoes? Rentals are available from our REI store.

We attract veteran snowshoe racers, new-to-the-sport walkers, children . . . the bottom line is to enjoy the Snowshoe Stomp!

We use the beautiful Prospector Square Lodging and Conference Center 2200 in Park City, Utah as race headquarters. Special rates are offered to our racers.
The Rail Trail is in a unique park known as the Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park, rich in cultural history starting in the 1800’s, where you run by beautiful snowcovered meadows, making it a pleasing experience as you snowshoe through history.

Age divisions for the snowshoe / running shoe events male & female: 14 & Under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 +, Clydesdale and Walking division. For walkers, awards will be given up to 3rd place overall male and female.  There is food, drinks, awards and prize drawings.

Sports-Am has enjoyed organizing this event for all these years and looks forward to putting it together again January 9, 2010. Plan for a winter’s vacation around this date in beautiful Park City and participate in the Park City, Utah, Rail Trail Stomp’s USSSA National Championship Qualifier race.
