Big News for North American Snowshoe Racing

The 2006/07 snowshoe season is fast approaching, and with it, some exciting news…Canada now has a National Snowshoe Championship! This a joint venture between the Mad Trapper Snowshoe Series north of Ottawa, and the Yeti Snowshoe Series in British Columbia.

Mike Caldwell of Corporate Synergy Inc. will be hosting the 2007 event at his “Ark” facility in Low, Quebec on March 4, 2007. The event will move to B.C. in 2008 when the Yeti Series (www.theyeti.ca) will take its turn hosting. The Ark lies in a snowbelt approximately 40 minutes north of Ottawa, and the 10km championship course will be carved out of the same rugged hills that the Mad Trapper races are famous for.

The USSSA has been extremely gracious in welcoming Canadian athletes at their National Championships over the years, and we hope to see many U.S. athletes competing in our Championships as well!
