GV Snowshoes to Launch Mountain Extreme 825 and Mountain Extreme 830 Snowshoes

During my recent travels to Quebec City, Canada, I had the unique opportunity to tour the GV Snowshoes manufacturing facilities – based in the Huron community of Wendake, near the St. Charles River.  While on my tour, I was able to meet with GV Snowshoes President, Stephen Vincent, and Technical Representative, Alex Maher.

As a Snowshoe Magazine exclusive, Mr. Vincent wanted me to see the new GV Mountain Extreme 825 and Mountain Extreme 830 snowshoes:

“You are the first person to see these snowshoes,” Vincent said.  “But I want people to start talking about them.  It’s very exciting for GV.”

Featuring GV’s Entech TM decking (lightweight and abrasion resistant) and asymmetrical /ergonomic binding, the Mountain Extreme series incorporates the traction system into the frame of the shoe.  This engineering approach helps GV create a lightweight snowshoe – offering more floatation and traversing advantages.

These shoes also offer the benefits of an improved heel raiser system.  A stabilizer control plate on the front of the binding prevents the feet from shifting within the binding.

Of course, stay tuned for a full-feature article reviewing my Quebec City experiences.  This will include information on the Carnaval de Quebec, the Quebec City Winter Pentathlon, the Hotel – Musee, and the Hotel de Glace.
