Advertise With Snowshoe Magazine

Snowshoe Mag is a family-owned publication with content created by true snowshoeing lovers. Paul and Susan Wowk, current owners, purchased the magazine in 2015 from Ryan Alford, who began the online publication in January 2004. As the only publication focused on snowshoeing and with over 2,700 articles, we share the joys of the sport with other enthusiasts and industry leaders around the world!

Mission

The mission of Snowshoe Mag is to inspire and support individuals to participate in the sport of snowshoeing and explore the outdoors in the winter season. Also, we strive to be a resource to the snowshoeing industry to further promote the sport through our editorial excellence.

Sister Publication

Initially created to support snowshoers in the off-season, our sister publication, River Sports Magazine, focuses on the top 5 major river sports: kayaking, canoeing, rafting, fishing, and stand-up paddleboarding.

Now a growing publication, it shares similar characteristics to Snowshoe Mag in its audience. As such, we can tailor advertising to reach both the Snowshoe Magazine and River Sports audience if desired.

Partnerships

We love creating mutually beneficial partnerships with brands our audience will love and pride ourselves in optimal delivery. We tailor all advertising with Snowshoe Magazine to meet your needs. So, please feel free to let us know your interests.

Below are a few examples of content and campaigns. You can also view the information below via our updated media kit.

Branded Content

Feature your brand in an article written by the Snowshoe Mag team. The content created is owned by your brand and will be shared on Snowshoe Mag’s social media and in the newsletter. All branded content is featured in our “featured” section of the Snowshoe Mag homepage. There is also the option to elevate the branded content piece via a prize giveaway to Snowshoe Mag readers.

Product and Services Custom Guides

As part of the Snowshoe Magazine advertising options, our staff can create a guide featuring your gear, accommodation, or service, making your services and products more visible to the Snowshoe Mag audience.

Content Sponsorship

Own specific subject matter for an agreed-upon timeframe of up to one year.

Sponsorship could include new editorial and fan favorites from previous seasons, and it will include a mention that you are the presenting sponsor. Total pageviews and average time on the page vary depending on whether the content is new or a long-time fan favorite.

Example: Compass and Map Reading 101: Basics for the Beginner

Display your ads throughout our site and in our newsletter to reach a new community of customers.

Ads are displayed on the homepage and all posts and pages (728 x 90 and 300 x 250). Also, ads must be in JPG or GIF format, and size should not exceed 75 KB. Only static images can be displayed in the newsletter.

Ads can be linked to any page of your choosing and can be rotating or static.

Additional Sponsorship Opportunities

In addition to the advertising opportunities, you can sponsor one of our annual giveaways or initiatives and gain brand exposure to the Snowshoe Magazine audience. Opportunities include:

Annual Photo Competition

Each April, Snowshoe Magazine hosts our annual photo competition. Readers can submit a photo from the winter season and then vote for their favorite. The top photos with the most votes win a selection of prizes. Thus, your brand has the opportunity for sponsorship via prize donations or as the title sponsor of our competition.

Holiday Gift Giveaway

For the holidays, Snowshoe Magazine offers a reader giveaway featuring up-and-coming and/or our favorite products. Gain new customers via the donation of a prize to our holiday giveaway or as our title sponsor. The holiday giveaway is promoted on our social media channels for the month of December. Based on a request, we can also focus on one platform for hosting. For example, in 2022, our holiday giveaway was targeted on Instagram.

Cindy Brochman Memorial Person of the Year

The Cindy Brochman Memorial Person of the Year is awarded to an individual that embodies a passion, dedication, and advocacy for the sport of snowshoeing and a commitment to fitness and healthy living. Since 2009, this award has served as a remembrance of Cindy Brochman, the first recipient of the award in 2007, who sadly passed away.

Sponsorship of the award includes your brand’s name and logo on the certificate presented to the recipient and in an accompanying article announcing the award winner. Nominations for the award open in January, with a committee comprised of industry professionals choosing the winner, announced in March.

Clean-Up Initiatives

As snowshoe season kicks off in September and wraps up in April, Snowshoe Mag encourages readers, businesses, and outdoor enthusiasts alike to clean up their local areas. Thus, we promote local clean-ups organized through National Clean-Up Day and Earth Day and provide recommendations for those interested in hosting a clean-up. Susan and Paul Wowk also will choose a local area in Fort Collins to pick up trash for both events.

Become our title sponsor for our clean-ups, which includes logo inclusion and/or mention in our campaign articles, promotion on social media, and inclusion in our newsletter.

Reviews

Do you have a tour, product, or accommodation that you would like us to review? Our staff can complete a thorough review and then compile a report for readers. On-site reviews are dependent on staff availability. Also, we cannot accept paid reviews. For any review, articles express the writer’s own honest opinion of the topic.

Snowshoe Clinic

Snowshoe Mag staff can host a snowshoe training and guided outing (if desired) for your resort, ranch, or organization. The clinic is designed for brands interested in starting a snowshoe program. However, it can be tailored and applied to meet your needs.

Learn the basics of snowshoeing and the needs of the snowshoer. Also, try out different brands and styles of ‘shoes (based on availability) to help you choose what is best for your customers.
